This day, with the possible exception of Passover, is the most observed days for Jewish people throughout the world.  It is the one day above all others that Jewish people will fast and pray and be in services all day.  For example, the Hall of Fame baseball pitcher, Sandy Koufax, once missed pitching in the first game of the World Series to be in synagogue on Yom Kippur.  The Biblical Yom Kippur is described in both the Hebrew Bible (also known as the Tanakh or Old Testament) as well as in the New Covenant (New Testament).

The Yom Kippur service will include special music and an explanation of the Biblical fulfillment of this Feast in the coming years.  It will be fulfilled on the most trans-formative day for Jewish people in all of history.  We will discuss this on Yom Kippur.  May that day come soon.
